About the foundation of society

Sikh Education Society is the foundation Society running Hari Singh Ruprah College. It was registered in August 1969 to run a school from Class 1 to Class 11th (then Higher Secondary) under M.P. Societies Registrikaran Adhiniyam as a religious and charitable Society run by Sikh minority. The said school, it students and teachers were abandoned by another Society and taken over by Sikh Education Society. The school was named Cantonment Khalsa Higher Secondary and we cannot help paying deep reverence to Late Sardar Hari Singh Ruprah Sr. Adv. who was a young man at that time and his wife Smt. Avtar Ruprah who was the first Principal of the school.

The school did very well running both English Medium and Hindi Medium wings and in the year 2015, the Society decided to start a college in the name of the man behind the Society namely, Late Sardar Hari Singh Ruprah Sr. Adv. After getting permission from Government of M.P., Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya and Bar Council of India, the College is running the courses of B.A., B.Com. & B.A.LL.B.(Hons.). It intends to start the LL.B. (3 year) course shortly this year or the next. The Society is running on the principles of Sikh religion which rejects all discrimination on the ground of caste, creed, sex or religion. Gaining knowledge and using it benevolently for the upliftment of the society is the motto behind the educational institutions run by the Society.

All the members of the Society belong to Sikh religion and are determined to spread the message of Shri Guru Granth Sahib to the mankind. Nurturing the students for excellent performance in academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities is the hallmark of the institutions run by the Society and the College is no exception.
